Trauma writing is such a mixed bag. You get amazing insights yet...I would advise against coming to some external conclusions and theory based on trauma writing. If I had done that, I might be convinced of some seriously wild shit that's only true of my specific situation. In many ways.

I might know about sex trafficking because I was almost, and because loved ones of mine have been. It's some real fucked up shit. And behind it all is that sex work being stigmatized and the whole puritan culture keeps these things a secret, dirty under belly to be infinitely exploited.

I was also informed that this essay is concerning some very specific community beef, which is part of the disavowal. That would explain why a lot of it in general resonates with trans people that have been through abuse. But also why it might hurt the author to use it in certain rhetoric.
I did read "Hot Allostatic Load." There's ways I feel deeply seen there, but other ways I see it as a piece of trauma writing. Valuable in many ways, yet I see why the author has apparently disavowed much of it. I feel seen in that writing because I relate. Think most trans people do, in some way.

The last few months have had me wrestling with the apparent fact that right-wingers genuinely do not seem to think that sexual abuse is immoral on a fundamental level. They only seem to perceive it as immoral when people who are not useful to them do it.
