And I can't speak for the author, but I can see how it might be annoying or worrisome that a product of trauma and the times of those traumas is often taken totally out of context.

That essay is very... product of its time, imo.

I understand very much why both parties are upset and having a beef. BUT THE SCARCITY IS ARTIFICIAL! and really, not either of the wolves fault.

And it's like, one of the wolf girls is starving because she never gets satiated and has been scavenging, and the other wolf girl is satiated but wrongly under the impression there isn't enough moose meat for everyone because this newbie fucker is coming into new territory, munching on their meal.

are there some trans mascs and enbies who are shitty to transfems?

yeah

does that mean you should spend all of your fucking time seeking them out to argue with and putting them on my timelines and painting all trans mascs with a broad brush?

no, fuck off

Which is to say, a lot of people in this discussion are in totally different points in their lives as trans people. For a lot of different reasons. Importantly, they're all trans people. Affected by the same bs of being proverbially kept in captivity and forced into a small, narrow minded space.

So, the reality is, much like people, they live in family structures and, given enough space and enrichment, tend to get along. Except for territorial disputes, it seems. This entire discourse... feels something like that. In that many of the people discussing are in different "territories."

Scientists go "oh so they're hierarchical!" Based on entirely their own biases and assumptions. For years science goes along with this "alpha, beta, omega" pack system being how wolves tick. Except, that wasn't true. Much like people, they're social, family animals. They're also territorial.

Yeah on all sides there's quite a bit of doom posting vibes that I don't think is useful to anyone.

Overall, it feels like we're just coming up against a conclusion that these social media discussions neglect material reality. And that reality is we're all oppressed. So I tend to think more division and fighting is not conducive. Being more offline helps with that.

The last few months have had me wrestling with the apparent fact that right-wingers genuinely do not seem to think that sexual abuse is immoral on a fundamental level. They only seem to perceive it as immoral when people who are not useful to them do it.

People contain multitudes. Once again social media is shit for that.

Like, this person was very comforting and there for me when some domestic violence shit forced me into a really bad time, explicitly because I was a closeted trans person being abused by a chaser. And I have similar complicated concerns around transition, which they've been super understanding about

It's also pretty wild to see people coming to see really wild conclusions about someone you've spoken to quite a bit, and they are not as closeted as one might assume. They're just a victim of perpetual online harassment and value privacy. Something I think most queer people can relate to tbh.
