There are still quite a few scientists in the US who think that they can weather the storm. Some of them voted for this administration to run the country and its scientific enterprise.

To acquire a birth certificate you can't do it online or by phone. I had to send by US mail a notarized request to the county of birth. It cost $. It took at least a month. Millions will be unaware or unprepared for the process or be unable to take care of it in time to vote. Call senators.
