I much prefer this map to the winner-takes-all one ( I really try my best to avoid describing places as "red" or "blue").

Much more precise and accurate this way.

Black American soldiers literally dug these WWII graves. Traumatic. To acknowledge that fact at a cemetery they helped construct is something the Heritage Foundation cannot accept. As Veterans Day approaches, never forget that this country both compels and disrespects Black military service. Always.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Good article. Yes, the "crisis of masculinity" predates factory closings. That problem is definitely not merely about economics and jobs.

The article reminds me of Barbara Ehrenreich's *Hearts of Men*.

Put bluntly, can a law firm really represent a client zealously against the Trump’s administration when, at the same time, it is seeking to stay on Trump’s good side through an settlement agreement? ICYMI @rosenzweigp.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/big-law-bi...
Big Law’s Big Choice
A D.C. Bar opinion shows why it would be ethical for the nine Big Law firms to rescind their settlement agreements with Trump. But to do so would invite his wrath.

The Washington Post’s new editorial stance: trillion dollar executive compensation packages while tripling the price of tens of millions of Americans’ health insurance premiums is A-Ok, but proposing free childcare and public transit is class warfare.

Dropping the mask, indeed.
This is references “class warfare” and “Generalissimo Zohran Mamdani” and only gets more bananas from there. The new editorial page is… really something. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Democrats' 2025 election wins go beyond the big races:

In Pennsylvania, Dems swept the top "row offices" in Bucks County, electing the county's first-ever Democratic DA and defeating an incumbent Republican sheriff.

Dems notched victories in county executive races in Erie, Lehigh and Northampton.

Sherrill was hammering “liberty and prosperity,” the NJ state motto — which is a very flexible and nonpartisan message for Dems. Freedom from corruption, kidnappings, speech crackdowns, etc, and a chicken or at least an affordable dozen eggs in every pot
Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis suggests outlines of an emerging Dem coalition organized around anti-Trump *and* affordability politics. This is doing serious damage to the MAGA coalition. Its success this week undermines the idea of a big Trump 2024 realignment. 7/
