From a journalist friend: Just spreading the word. The CDC is purging data, so people should archive their favorite CDC datasets today, namely ones around race/ethnic diversity, LGBTQ, and reproductive health. Also health data involving climate. The youth risk behavior survey has already gone down.

We talk about this A LOT. Imagine the struggling tiny rural communities that border Shenandoah Natl Park getting more tourist money just by adding a bike lane. Damascus VA did this years ago with the Virginia Creeper Trail, it changed everything down there.
The rural highway that runs by my house is a well-known scenic bike route, yet the county has made ZERO alterations to the road infrastructure to support and encourage bikers. It’s awful to see bikers sharing the road with large trucks that have to cross the lane line to move past them. What a miss.

There are many versions of this image out there. The good ones illustrate why “better cars” will never be more than part of the answer, and actually help “lock in” the #CarDependency that’s the REAL problem. They also do a good job showing why status-quo interests want to focus on the vehicles.
