Was working on becoming a filmmaker: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm6199555/. Did a bunch of theater stuff, too. But plans changed, choices were made. Now, I'm a recluse with a cat & a garden. Sometimes I ramble on about stories I love.

Stay safe out there.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

5 episodes in, and season 9 of 9-1-1 is drowning in its grief. It's one thing to keep Bobby's memory alive, but they're taking it too far. They've built a tomb and buried everyone (including us, the audience) alongside him. Are we ever going to rejoin the land of the living?

Not even a little bit surprised that the bank guy is giving tax breaks to the wealthy, but somehow I'm still disappointed.
This paragraph sums up the spirit of Mark Carney's Budget.

It can often feel like there's a whole lot outside our control.

But if there's any kind of election in your town today, that's a way to make a meaningful difference in your state or local affairs.
Today I’m voting for school board. Keep the local MAGA out. Keep the ABA teacher with no real information about her out too (IYKYK).

Your local election for boards and judges and funding and so forth really do matter. Go vote!

I need to take the internet away from my mom. She's really buying into the idea that the Dodgers, and Yamamoto specifically, cheated vs the Jays. How? She can't say, but they did! Somehow.

She's just mad 'cause no one outside the Jays bubble likes George Springer.

CTV plays 9-1-1 all day on Saturdays, so I have it on while I'm painting some furniture. Right now, it's the season 3 tsunami episodes. This is my favorite season opener, but it's also their best one. They've never been able to surpass it, try as they might.

I keep seeing people say, oh, trans people must take a hit for the greater good and, first of all, no, you don't get to discard someone else's rights and second, we know from past experience that marginalized communities like theirs are merely the first to be targeted. They'll come for you next.

I really didn't like tonight's episode of 9-1-1, but it was dedicated to someone's dad, and that means everything. So I'm keeping my opinions to myself.

The day after the last election, I booked a trip to D.C. It was so out of the blue, everyone kept asking me why. Told them my Spidey sense was telling me to visit before everything changed. They thought I was overreacting.

Well, who's laughing (crying) now?

The biggest renovation of the White House -- the so-called Truman Reconstruction of 1949-1952 -- came about only because the building was in such a state of disrepair that inspectors decided it was unsafe for occupancy.

Not because the president just decided he needed a big fancy ballroom.
