It makes me really sad how small my Christmas card pile is. People just don't seem to send cards any more. You don't know people's addresses. Every year someone dies off. Depressing, really.

Tell you what lad, you sort out some maternity leave for people and see if breast feeding increases 🤔
RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."

This tradition along with gender reveal parties were created in our lifetimes. We have the agency to reject them in our own lives as well as the responsibility to minimize the impact on future generations.

1 in 7!
My colleague points out here that possibly one in seven requests to our library now may be assisted by LLMs.

When those point to fictional documents, that's a huge staff time drain. There's often no quick way to check if an undigitized primary source doc exists beyond physically pulling some boxes.

I once cold-called a librarian in the US to see if she'd send me a couple of photos of a book WORLDCAT said they had, because I was having a fight with the author, and she had those images emailed over to me before I could even explain myself.

So because everything can be a ~ teachable moment ~ if you're nerdy enough, let's learn about Speaker Denison's rule-- a convention established in the nineteenth by (you guessed it) a Speaker of the Commons called John Denison.
TIED VOTE in the Commons on the Lib Dem customs union ten minute rule bill. 100 votes each, deputy speaker Caroline Nokes breaks the tie by voting aye, to continue debate

Then worms shall try that long-preserved virginity,
and your quaint honour turn to dust, and into ashes all my lust.
The grave’s a fine and private place, but none, I think, do there embrace.

Just lives as proof that even back in the 1600s, things were basically the same

One of December's many faults is that it's both way too short to get anything done and unbearably long.

So what Lynx body spray y'all want for Christmas?

So true. Although, also, please tell me she doesn't actually have this on her actual CV because that too would be very strange behaviour
This is a borderline psychotic thing to put in a newspaper.
This is the point where the anti-Reeves stories tip into madness. Criticise her performance all you like but what the hell is this?

Really getting sick (lol) of not being able to fully shake off the tail end of this flu. Frustrating.

Chaos. Even judge cushion chaos.

How do you fault that?

This is what happens when you're also having to practice a bunch of other dances for the instant dance thingy, isn't it? Not enough time getting the main dance baked into the brain...

They'd have bitten off your hand for that kind of score for a rhumba if you'd have offered it on Monday

That girl's choreography is just madly good

Gorgeous. Lovely to watch a Quickstep and lovely to see him in a decent outfit for once.
November 29, 2025 at 6:56 PM
That was painful. I always thought this was a risky week for her given the dance isn't a fan favourite but now... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'd quite like a Zoë Ball & Janette Manrara combo. They like promoting from within on Strictly so maybe...
Who would you choose to host Strictly?

I refuse to shop anywhere in this country while they’re having “Black Friday” deals because absolutely the fuck not; we do not HAVE Thanksgiving, black friday is therefore unnatural and an abomination before the Lord and I will shop on Boxing Day like our ancestors intended

12:45pm - I'm ready for lunch but first, I'll just go through my inbox, file stuff and make sure I've not missed anything given how hectic the last few days have been

2:10pm Right, lunchtime then, I guess...
