I needed to buy a new iPhone case…something I would normally have just jumped on Amazon and purchased. I decided to not do that, but was concerned about how much longer it would take to find something that would ship for free. Ends up it was about 1 minute longer…worth every second!

Beautiful day skiing, then came home and got caught up the days “events.” We need to stay informed and engaged but still find time to do things we love.

Working with a great young skier this week on the fear of riding with another kid on the chairlift…will only ride with me right now. A poignant reminder how hearing about bad things happening to others impacts our ability to grow, learn and push our own boundaries.

Took a young woman I was instructing up higher on the mountain, and she started to have severe anxiety on the way down, despite skiing really well…but with some deep breathing and trust, she made it down and is ready to go again next week. Thinking of her anxiety and persistence in light of today.

We had an amazing holiday season with all our kids, their partners, and our grandson with us. Last car pulled out this morning and it is eerily quiet. Nobody warns you about how quiet the house gets when the kids move out.

One of my favorite parts of the season…quiet evening, red wine, peppermint bark and Christmas music. Nice way to end the day…
