Bad for school kids, bad for farmers, and sure as hell won’t “make America healthy again.”

Yall real silent about disability injustices because most of you don’t see disability as a thing that can happen to you.

We are “aww those poor people”. Meanwhile disability can happen to anyone at any moment and those injustices you ignored? They become your experiences too

This is a fiction we all tell ourselves to live with anxiety about death. Multiple friends didn't believe me when I told them I had cancer. "But you're so healthy!" Diet and exercise have nothing to do with it.
"During an appearance in West Virginia with Gov. Patrick Morrisey, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called on Americans to eat better and exercise more as a way of preventing the next pandemic. “The biggest thing we can do for pandemic preparedness is to make ourselves healthy,” he said."

As Bluesky has grown, I've seen a lot of backsliding on alt text. Please try to be considerate to others and include alt text with all of your images. It helps everyone. Indeed, in the "accessibility" setting in Bluesky you can set it to make sure you add alt text, which is a useful thing to do.

Killing children is by design, I'm afraid. "Pro-natalists" like Musk claim they aren't racist, but their pressure to have children is solely focused on white women, while they back policies that literally kill of non-white children.

He's a eugenicist.

Opinion | Musk Said No One Has Died Since Aid Was Cut. That Isn’t True.
A journey through the front lines of global poverty shows that when the world’s richest men slash aid for the world’s poorest children, the result is sickness, starvation and death.

So I was just on a smaller call with Ezra of @indivisibleteam and I’m not gonna share the whole thing because it was a private call, but I do want to highlight just a handful of things he said.

Disabled women are more likely to experience abuse than their non disabled peers

We’re often trapped with caregivers who treat us badly & lack the support to leave

Many disability benefits are cut if you marry, forcing dependence

We need a universal basic income so we can have autonomy #IWD2025

The enraging thing is we won't be able to stop any of this shit until nondisabled people realize the murder of disabled people *is the point* (or, rather, one of several points), but they refuse. It's like trying to untangle a giant knot but refusing to touch one of the strings. Ain't gonna work.
