It is EXTREMELY physically taxing to hold poses for five minutes, much less 45 or 90 as these folks have to do sometimes. The models we worked with in art school are damn heroes.
Between unreliable hours and varying wages, art models are struggling to cobble together a living, despite the consequential role they play in visual arts institutions across the US.
