My baby sister joined me for class last night! (This is an old photo). We did the same floor combo this week that we did last week AND I REMEMBERED IT!! It might sound silly, but with my brain fog, that is such a HUGE victory. I love this weekly little treat. I have missed dance SO much 😭💕

Okay, so I semi rescind my "not shopping at Target" after reading an article (sadly lost due to a feed refresh) about how it is more important to shop the brands that will be affected by DEI cuts than to stop shopping Target all together. Gonna look for these brands next time I am in Target.

Sometimes to get swatches I have to buy an 1/8-1/4 to a of a yard of fabric. When that's embroidered stuff for wedding clients I end up with these small pieces that I can't do anything with but don't want to part with because they're pretty bunk. I'm glad I finally found a use for my random chunks.

My supervisor is telling me to take a snack break. I am working on the #charmpatterns Charm Scout Cape. I made a rookie mistake by 1, not making a mock up thinking "it's just a cape" and 2, forgetting to account for finished garment measurements. I guess this will be a useable mock up?

One of my new favorite joys is hearing quotes used in sound drops on @greatesttrek.bsky.social. I'm now going to hear "get out of my chair" all day. #starttek is my comfort, so it tends to be my background noise while I stress sew.

Well. With very few other options I feel stuck. Mom and pop shops have all been basically erased. I guess it's time to double my efforts of shopping small even more than I already do and get over my anxiety of driving to do so. I'm never shocked by this kind of news, but always disappointed by it.

Someday I'll think ahead and utilize something like The Plotted Pattern or actually take this to be printed on larger paper. This is tedious but worth it!

The bodice of this costume is currently taunting me. It's sitting on the back of my office chair screaming "stitch the lining closed". I guess I'm torn, because it's actually too big on me so I kind of want to take it apart and fit it again, but it also doesn't look bad so do I just finish it??

I am all for trying to make sure artists get as much as possible for their work. Before purchasing on Etsy, I search to find if they have their own shop, or see if I can purchase directly in any way. Hire artists, Pay artists what they are worth and then some 💕

On insta I had accounts to keep my hobbies separated. I'm going to stick to 2 here. 1 for creative/fun stuff (sewing, nails, books), and the other one for all my health BS (Long covid stuff, migraines, etc). It will probably be a bummer of an account, but it's helpful to look at it and track things.
Okie dokie. I do think I want to keep "personal" and creative posts in separate spaces. I think just remembering how useful my Instagram stories were in tracking my migraines it makes sense to have a space I feel like I can post about the "less fun stuff" with less guilt. So here we are.

Returning to dance after 20ish years has been incredible. I'm still frustrated when I need to sit out for something but I'm so thankful for what I *can* do. Today's class was perfect. I was able to stay engaged in movement, and remember combos. I felt like I was flying again and I've MISSED this.

I finally pulled the tag on it yesterday while on a video call with my bestie. The loud abrupt sounds had is cackling. 10/10
