Hi y'all, I'm unemployed!

We are finally moving, which means I need to find work. In the mean time, my commissions are WIDE open and donations are much appreciated! My Vgen + Ko-fi are below if you're feeling magnanimous - my hungry family appreciate it.

The Cosmic Question Mark is comprised of a large emission nebula NGC 7822 and the small "Dot" is the Little Rosette Nebula (SH2-170). This photo is an updated post from 2 spectral bands to 3 where ionized Sulfur are reds, Hydrogen are yellows and Oxygen are blues.

No cometary imaging this morning. It was initially clear but high clouds were rolling in and they beat me to it I'm afraid. I briefly captured the Moon though 🔭🧪😁

This is the Triangulum Galaxy, M33. It is located about 2.7 million light years away. This stunning spiral galaxy is one of our Milky Way’s closest neighbors. Every point of light in this image represents billions of stars and countless worlds. @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social #astrophotography #stars

Been a while since I posted #astrophotography: here's the Heart Nebula, one of my favorite parts of the night sky (I say that about a lot of the sky though)

60x180s exposures (3 hours) with a Ha/Hb/OIII narrowband filter, from Bortle-5 upstate New York.

Andromeda galaxy, taken at the Kelling star party just before dawn.
I've not done much imaging using RGB filters before, so took a short series of images to test exposure and gain settings.
This is only 1½ hours total exposure.
I'll try and do a proper session, hopefully with better framing!

Skull Nebula. A planetary nebula with a triple-star system at its center. A nebula of just a few thousand years, a cosmic blink compared to other DSO.

Personally, I call this The Metroid nebula instead. 🎮

The JWST had a new look into the IC348 star forming region last year, and here's my processed image of that observation! 🔭

IC348 is located some 1,000 light years away from us and is made of hundreds of new stars born there.
