Those things can all be valid. We can tax wealth and resolve the situation where Sunak pays a far lower effective tax rate than much of the population, or where Buckingham Palace pays less council tax than the average semi in a deprived area.

Kate Nash has a new song - GERM - about the gender critical transphobic movement. She has come up with a new name for them - Gender Exclusionary Regressive Misogynist. Think we should start using that!

Careful what we wish for. The EHRC consultation could conclude “everyone says birth certificates are impractical so we need to ensure passports and driving licenses record birth sex”. Changes to those are convention and not in any way legally protected.
Proper insane. Firstly this won't stop trans women because lots of us have a correct birth cert. But also who the fuck knows where their birth cert is? Or wants to hand it over to use the toilet or changing room? Absolutely ridiculous. And for what?! To stop me swimming?
This is going to be an absolute car crash, the Supreme Court verdict looks more absurd by the day

Dignity when we die…of a burst bladder? From heart disease and obesity from being unable to exercise in public or play sports? Yeah thanks for that
The minister says trans people deserve the right to get married, dignity when we die, and that the government will look at gender recognition act reform. Says the government is committed to a trans-inclusive conversion therapy ban and at improving trans healthcare.

Charlotte Cane is now speaking. Talking of trans friends she has, she says

"Confident women who I've known for years are very very frightened and worried."

A trans person she has spoken to said (of the process of getting a GRC):

"It's a system that lacks any dignity and puts me in real danger."

Isn’t the EHRC consultation starting today? Where is it?

Clear from this thread there is quite a few MPs who are supportive of trans people and even of self ID. Yet many of them will belong to parties actively restricting rights, let alone expanding them.
I'm watching Parliament's debate on self-ID so you don't have to and it's not bad so far (reader, we are only 30 minutes in).

It really doesn't matter what Steve from the pub thinks about trans women in sports because Steve from the pub isn't trans nor is he a woman and he probably doesn't play sport either.

It's not a democratic thing to include Steve in the conversation on whether trans women can play.

Trans people are not a threat. Gender-based violence and misogyny are.

This fall is in large part due to the attacks on trans rights. You take the name of a protest led by trans women, but you don’t even say the word trans, let alone mention Cass, the EHRC or the Supreme Court.

Are you trying to become the LGB Alliance or do you stand with trans people?

🚨 The latest rankings today shows the UK has reached an all-time low position of 22 out of 49.

This should be a wake-up call for the British government.

Risking their memberships! Oh my god, you should have said sooner. What a terrible risk. A "risk" because... uhh, they demand that Labour ensure that trans people are afforded the ability to exist in public space.

Hey. If *that* can get your membership revoked, maybe you should simply resign it.
(3/3) We urge Pride organisers and the wider community to not vilify those who are using their voices, their positions, and risking their memberships on a daily basis to demand better from the Labour government.

Has anyone studied the radicalisation of Home Secretaries? They seem to invariably become more extreme in their views as their time in office goes on. Do we need to refer the Home Office to Prevent?
Yvette Cooper gives an exclusive interview to GB News about her immigration plans, during which the interviewer tells her that some of their viewers live near asylum seekers and their "children can't leave home".

I don’t think I’ve seen any media coverage of the fact that multiple counties in Europe have had self ID for some time and have no problems. The UK is in thrall to a small group of fanatics who see danger where there is none. And put people’s lives in danger as a result.

Looking increasingly like this is the UK’s Biden phase, before we go back to the far right in a few years under Farage who will want to go full Trump. Labour are obviously bad, but the solution is definitely not Reform for LGBT issues or the wider country.

Presumably all those signs in the Ladies saying male cleaners may be in attendance now need to be removed?
Carry on using the right toilets. And remind your friends and family voting in the local elections next week that this is Labour's policy and Labour extended the term of the bigot running the EHRC.
