Inslee: If you need more energy, the dumbest thing you can do is disallow access to wind, solar, and advanced batteries—three of the most productive ways of producing new energy. And yet, that’s exactly what he’s done.

I just don’t even know where to start. This criminalization, institutionalization and incarceration of people who need healthcare and housing is a failed and cruel model. People who need help will be harmed. WA must continue to fight for housing first, community treatment and harm reduction.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

If a bill is so bad that you have to exempt entire states from its consequences to win the votes you need—just don't pass the bill!

Why do people in Washington state deserve Medicaid & SNAP cuts, but others don't?

This is plain wrong, and it's just no way to legislate.

It’s a terrible bill. It will literally kill people. The most vulnerable among us will suffer as the wealthiest benefit. It’s perverse. I wish there were something I could do. But alas, I am only a U.S. Senator from Alaska whose “no” vote would kill the bill. So I voted yes. You get it.

Today’s unsigned, unexplained #SCOTUS ruling clearing the way for removals of migrants to third countries without any additional process is a disaster—not just on the merits, but because of the government misbehavior that it not only refuses to punish, but effectively rewards.

Me, via “One First”:
161. The Court's Disastrous Ruling in the Third-Country Removal Case
The majority did not just greenlight an especially odious immigration policy without any explanation; it did so in a case in which the government defied the district court—twice—with no consequence.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

The suggestion that Kristi Noem, a white woman, is the "delicate, beautiful, tiny" victim after a Latino man is physically dragged out of a room fits into the admin's pretext of criminality it attaches to people who are not white.

Like Rep. LaMonica McIver.
The "delicate, beautiful, tiny" fascism of Kristi Noem
The right thinks Noem is the victim of Sen. Padilla's assault. But what about Rep. McIver?

Fox hosts, parroting DHS, claimed Sen. Padilla "ran at,” "lunged at," and tried to “bum-rush” Kristi Noem. Video disproves their claims, showing Padilla standing calmly across the room asking his question as security grabs him.

Work requirements are draconian and ineffective. Rooted in the general disdain for the aging, the disabled, and those living in poverty. People will starve under this cruel policy.

“By labeling these long-established protections as ‘unnecessary and unduly burdensome’, the Department of Energy is prioritizing private convenience over the civil rights of disabled people”

This is super important. Maybe the most insidious threat to poor and working-class in the whole big beautiful bill? SNAP promises you won’t starve whether you live in New York or Mississippi. By shifting billions in costs to states, SNAP is no longer the federal guarantee millions rely on.
Like the House version, they're pushing costs onto states. These are less extreme than the House version, but the biggest problem still remains: by being a shared model, states can drop out of the SNAP program, dooming their people to starvation.
