We seriously need to strike down the notwithstanding clause at this point.
As we watch Trump & the GOP ignore the Constitution & the concept of human rights in the United States, consider what’s been happening in Canada with right-wing Premiers and Poilievre normalizing the common abuse of the Notwithstanding Clause to make Canada’s Charter of Rights & Freedoms irrelevant.

The truly maddening thing is that, unlike when I was a young man in science and the materials and engineering just weren’t there yet, the future is *right there.* The problem is *solved*. What’s holding us back is not just greed, but this bizarre nostalgia, an obsession with petro- masculinity.

One the one hand: yay new system and features!

On the other hand: the initial Compass rollout was a disaster and they started with an end of life system, so I do hope they have learned from those mistakes.

Sigh. I _was_ trying to play Outer Worlds 2, but oops, it's got game-breaking bugs preventing me from doing the main storyline quest on the second planet.

Shelving that for six months.|

Using the notwithstanding clause to stop legal challenge to back-to-work legislation is a nuclear event for all unions. Will it lead to a general strike in Alberta? It certainly should lead to the Supreme Court establishing Constitutional limits to the clause, or else we have no rights and freedoms.
At 2 a.m., the Alberta legislature passed a bill that will force 51,000 teachers back to work, impose a four-year contract and use the notwithstanding clause to stave off a legal challenge and suspend teacher bargaining at the local level. It includes fines for Ts and the ATA if they defy it. #AbLeg

Since I did a nearly 100% run of Cyberpunk that unlocked every possible ending I thought I would switch to Destiny 2 again. Expansions on sale? Cool! Except the Xbox cannot apparently manage to reinstall the game correctly.

it’s now blown up my data cap for the month and stuck at “finishing up…”

I’m 90% the human I was this time last year? Really should have looked into things sooner. I was hungry all the time essentially because food could make it all the way through in under 12 hours. A year on liraglutide has slowed that down and I actually get to feel satiated now.
