Carole Cadwalladr was right and we’d be in a better world if more people had listened.
This tweet has been doing the rounds on Twitter now that Nathan Gill has pleaded guilty.

If only someone had tried to investigate UKIP & Russian interference 🧐

There’s another timeline where the Guardian supported me, doubled down on the investigation & I look 5 years younger ..

To whomever is trying to contact me in the Chat section:
I can't access Chat, since this requires age verification, a procedure which would involve me replying to a relevant
e-mail from Bluesky - but their e-mail never reaches my inbox.
I've brought it to their attention, without result.

Two very good discussions in one show -

comparison of the Spanish and Greek civil wars, by
Yannis Varoufakis and Prof. Mary Vincent (up to 28:40)

Thucydides, appraised by Prof. Paul Cartledge (from 28:40)
- who thinks the 'Thucydides Trap' is a misinterpretation.

In Georgia, there’s no economic resources for a self-sustained dictatorship. Any and all undemocratic rule in Georgia will have to have existential backing from other autocracies such as Russia, China, Iran.

This is why democracy in Georgia is non-negotiable to American and European interests. 1/
