Sign of an excellent vacation for me: brought one book, it was so good I finished it in one day and had to visit the adorable indie bookstore to get another! @margaret.bsky.social my only complaint is that I’m going to have to wait til I’m back home to finish the series, and I need to do so ASAP!

Seriously thankful for the trans folks, especially women I follow on here. I’ve been isolated and frozen in amber in c. 2012 hangups about not wanting to take up (any) space as a trans masc enby because I was convinced my very existence as someone who sometimes appears male is harmful to all women.

The first day I was in Jerusalem, in 2011, I was at a juice stand talking with a Palestinian man when sirens for an air raid drill went off. I asked him what to do, I didn’t understand exactly - and he told me it was a drill, but it didn’t matter, Palestinians had nowhere to shelter anyway.

Sarah McBride's political niche is tokenistic assimilation. She claims epistemic authority on trans issues to flatter, reassure, and soothe cis consciences, reinforcing the idea that "trans activists" are simply "loud, obnoxious, hysterical, out of touch with REAL issues".

I'm only partway in, but she's already spent most of the time saying we should compromise with the far right and lecturing trans activists for talking too much about the material harms facing our communities.

Returning to the high school where you fought very hard to survive as a queer kid to beg the school board not to rescind their trans affirming policy (which has been in place 6 years & complies with state law) while they spout hateful rhetoric is a special level of hell I wish only on said bigots.

My 11 year old niece has a social awareness project for school, and she decided to do it on #Sudan.
