I’ll try and think about this more in the coming days, but I’m not sure the South Korean coup has a whole lot of lessons for the US because the situations are so different. My knee-jerk reaction is if anything South Korea makes it clear how Trump may succeed where Yoon failed. 1/

What a crazy fucking day this was.
In sum, Yoon had almost zero support. No mass following. No broad military support. Not even from his political base and fellow party members. Because of this it could not be adequately planned. He had no vision or plausible justifications. And so the ploy was quickly undermined. End
