This doesn’t get filed into the “weird Kamigawa tech” category. This is just a flat out good card.
Champions of Kamigawa week: It says something about the power of fogs that Ethereal Haze is still an excellent card all these years later. A single mana to blank an entire swing is a great rate. You can even Splice onto Arcane! You won't, but you could. But you won't.

There's no shortage of new and innovate ideas, actually.
The issue is that those with the funds to make them a possible reality refuse to take risks and opt to go with the safe bet that results in regurgitated shit like AI trash.
