Behold Greyhawk, one of my illustrations for the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide! Perhaps the piece I'm proudest of from the past year. I was able to take this one about 70% of the way to finish in acrylics, a major milestone for me.

Today is my birthday! 🎂

I feel grateful for everyone who supports me, my art and the work I love. It makes even the hardest days brighter and gives me the strength to keep creating🫶

If you could spare a repost, it would mean a lot and help my work reach more people 🤗

Making fun plans for next year!

A couple more AP paintings I finished and sent off to their commissioners the other week! It continues to be fun expanding what I'm capable of putting onto such a small surface.

I'm enjoying these D&D paintings of mine hanging in my dining area!

Silver's Vengeance, 2022, for D&D's Shadow of the Dragon Queen. Although not something I paint very often, I do enjoy the challenge of painting dragons when I get the chance. A very nostalgic piece for me, since I grew up with Dragonlance!

"Inauspicious Birth", personal piece, 2018. It sometimes feels we're born into such a cruel world, but it *could* be worse.

I'm pleased to be taking part (once again) in the third Magic the Gathering in Miniature gallery show @gallerynucleus.bsky.social in Los Angeles next month! 111 MTG artists are taking part. Here are the three pieces I'll be submitting. Any guesses on which cards these are painted on the back of?

Sometimes you just need a laugh, and as silly as this particular project was, I was laughing throughout! "Ruckus in the Orchard", 2017 or so.

Another early career piece I'm proud of for Numenera: 'The Isle of Forbidden Cultivations'

I'll be sharing some old work for a bit! This one is from 2016. 'Fourth Mark', commissioned by Lone Shark Games for Numenera.

Ask yourself if kids prefer toys, or stores. Games from a generation ago were allowed to be toys. Games today are forced to be stores.

Finally got my hands on this beauty that I did two illustrations for!

Last show of the year! Yes, there were too many shows this year. 😅 Nonetheless, I'm excited to be here in chilly Salt Lake for Dragonsteel! Come say hi if you're at the show! Booth E40.

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

"Things Left Behind", personal piece from 2019 or so. I'm always trying to remind myself to save some time for personal work like this, but I haven't been terribly effective at doing so.

The final D&D piece I get to share for now, from Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun! Plus the painting (acrylic, 12x16) when it was in progress while I was visiting my in-laws in China this past winter.

"Shadowdale"
D&D Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun

I was incredibly honored to paint this one (acrylic, 16x12 in.), because Shadowdale is one of THE most iconic places in all of Faerun!

'Telflamm' Illustration for 'Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun' from D&D. A very challenging piece! On the left (click on it) the final version that saw print. To the right, a progress shot of the acrylic painting. Behind the painting you can see one of my 'models', my cat Loki! AD: Emi Tanji

I'm getting very antsy to reveal five pieces I painted for D&D's new Forgotten Realms books starting most of a year ago! More on this in a week, when I'm back from Dubai.
