my biggest conclusion from literally anything in history over and over again is that war and the kinds of violence and dehumanization it leads to is a rot to humanity collectively and that kind of hate continuing to be glorified the way it has been, is genuinely why we can't progress as humans

Thinking about this again - everyone still regurgitating half-century-plus Warholisms and Devo-isms about pop and subversion and accelerationism and how the mainstream can become/already secretly is the real counterculture, and it bears no relationship with what has happened and is happening
The attempted successors, from hyperpop to Dimes Square, miss this - you can't try to beat the mainstream at being more digitally fetishistic and fascistic and nihilistic, because it already happened. It's there. You're just reiterating what everybody already knows

the moment i realized the US has always been a "soft" fascist country shattered my brain and has made so many things make sense since. seeing what people have tried to hide in history tells just as much as what has been taught to us in schools. the cracks don't ever go away once you see them
