i've changed my mind, i really hope Fetterman runs for re-election just because it'd be more fun to watch him go down in flames in the primary

“if” they betray everyone

Democrats signed this deal knowing full well they won’t get the votes to extend ACA subsidies. Let’s not play this game.
1. We need to fight hard for a good ACA extension early in December and hold Republicans fiercely accountable if they betray everyone.

the most utterly galling and infuriating part of this is that somehow, John fucking Fetterman looks like one of the only honest people in the Democratic caucus

one of the most stunning things about the past twelve months is that to some Democrats, nothing is more disloyal than demanding that they fight fascism harder

Absolutely correct
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

honestly never would've expected this to be indivisible's trajectory
"We’re done waiting for Dems to find their spine. We can’t afford a weak & cowardly Democratic Party while the authoritarians invade our cities, terrorize our communities, & threaten our democracy. We get the party we demand, & we intend to demand a Democratic Party that fights.” — @indivisible.org

it's funny how people can't conceive of doing politics through anything but individual fandom of politicians, as though me supporting Sanders means i didn't knock doors for Biden and Harris in PA
Listen, stop gaslighting, I’ve seen your post history. You are long time Dem basher because you are another in a long list of sore loser stans of the book seller multimillionaire who can’t manage to get more than 8 bills enacted in 35 years in Congress, but can do this 👇 🙄 🥱 bsky.app/profile/maud...

sorry, do individual senators control their own committee assignments, leadership positions, and DSCC fundraising

no?
That’s asinine. The senate is nothing like the house where you have to continuously run for your seat, your district can change, and you individually have very little power. Senators have a shit ton of power, enjoy more stability than the president, and answer primarily to their state.

union reps and union organizers are notoriously never faced with difficult decisions about harm reduction
It's too bad you've fallen for repub bullshit so much you can't see how this is harm reduction..but then you've probably never had to deal with hard choices to reduce harm.
As for the RIFs: it's not a give for them to back off of patently illegal RIFs that already had drawn multiple lawsuits, it's just getting a status quo result.

apparently it's a win to get Republicans to fund SNAP at present levels for the fiscal year, which was never in question from the start given that they already passed SNAP cuts kicking in the following fiscal year.
Indeed it takes a lot of mental gymnastics to blame Dems for getting senate repubs to pass a different bill that provides relief for kids and families when repubs could have just passed the house bill. But some of y'all are conditioned to blame dems instead of repubs and the voters who gave em power
The mental gymnastics are absolutely amazing.

There are definitely people who study politics with the same romance and obsession of diehard, chronic baseball watchers. These people are, somehow, the least informed of any group of people.

everyone that works in politics: "yeah they fuckin caved"
everyone that's a self-professed politics nerd: "NO SEE HERE'S WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED..."
November 10, 2025 at 10:39 PM
The mental gymnastics are absolutely amazing.
Yeah cause hundreds of thousands of people going without paychecks while SNAP is gutted is totally awesome /s. Also the fact dems got repubs to cave on RIFs and pass a bill that requires the house to now pass is chess while you're a pigeon kicking over checkers pieces.

if this was truly a revolt over the objections of Senste leaders: why, pray tell, would any of these individuals continue to hold ranking positions on these committees or maintain positions of conference leadership
November 10, 2025 at 10:10 PM
it’s absolutely astounding democrats think getting republicans on the record opposing ACA subsidies is a win when republicans have screamed loudly for fifteen years that they want to end Obamacare
