Collecting and experimenting with ideas is one of my favourite hobbies.

Spending time sitting in the "I wonder what might happen if," space always brings an extra bright spot into my days.

Lately, reading about mental models has been end-capping my days, and there's a section

“The companies that will stand out are the ones that show their craft and true understanding of the customer.”

In context, this quote concerns what happens in our AI-soaked present and future. However, I can't seem to find the angle from which it hasn't been true all along.

Growth lives in the little things.
Celebrating them, I mean.

The moment you send the email you were dreading.
The day you drink enough water.
The 2% better week.
The 6/10 complete pomodoros on your biggest goal (where last week it was zero)

Celebrate those. Build momentum, not just milestones.

We are abandoning being *told* what the authority is - and rediscovering for ourselves. We have evolved for some things like ritual, community/communion - and it’s lacking in our lives.

But we don’t need some old dude to tell us how to be kind and respect things outside ourselves.

Happy Friday! Don't forget to celebrate the little things. The micro-wins. The glimmers.

If you don't feel like you have any - ask some folks around you for theirs. Odds are, you'll realize you also have some.

Oh - and don't take anything too seriously this weekend.

1/ If you make $100,000/year, do you know how many years it would take you to make 1 Billion dollars?

10,000. Doable? Not until we're f'in immortal.

What if you made the median wage in the US, Canada, UK, or Luxumberg (highest median wage OECD country)?

What if, instead of "Hot Takes" we did more "Considered Takes," "Well-thought-out Takes," "Helpful Takes"

Or anything else that isn't for the sake of the views and the clicks.

What would our feeds look like if we started trying to have next-level, deeper conversations?

"I don't talk to any other patients like I talk to you"
👀

At my regular eye exam yesterday (let's go, bifocals!) - this is what the Optometrist said to me...also the same thing my Primary Physician a few weeks ago.

My response is the always same...

Daydreams I've been cycling through lately ☀️🌚

1. Helping a few hundred (or thousands?) SMBs take a bite out of the big guys. More SMBs = more competition, and more importantly, better ethics. The abstraction from enormity makes for some of the shadiest, ruthless decisions.

I don't know who needs to hear this today (me)

But there's no real advantage in trying to follow what "every one else is doing"

Stop polishing yourself....just be weird.

Life is way too short.

Happy Friday y'all.

The businesses I admire most aren't growing the fastest—they're growing the most meaningfully.

What's one way you've chosen purpose over pure scale this past week?

This is exactly where my stomach dropped out of my body. I can’t fathom that this is the real timeline.
It's stomach-turning to see how the representative of the Ukrainian people, who have suffered 3 years of imperialist war, death, and destruction, is being treated by Trump, Vance, and all their cronies, just because he refuses to grovel before them.

Bastards, the lot of them.
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?

VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media

Trust tip: Stop trying to look perfect.
The most trusted brands in 2025 acknowledge their flaws...not hide them.

When did you last openly share something that wasn't working? Counterintuitively, showing vulnerability is one of the fastest paths to building credibility.

Trust is the only currency that matters in 2025.

When algorithms shift daily and platforms come and go, there's only one business asset that consistently grows in value – trust. (cont)

Trust is measurable, not just feelable.

Three metrics that reveal your trust equity:
• Unprompted referrals
• Recovery rate (customers who stay after problems)
• Premium price sustainability

Which are you tracking?

If you aren't confident enough in your message to repeat it until YOU are bored of it, your audience will never even remember it.
We're so afraid of being "too repetitive" that we constantly change our messaging, our positioning, our value proposition... (cont)

Here's a paradox we aren't talking about enough: 🕴

The more businesses lean on AI to automate and polish up their routines - the more valuable it becomes to break out of that mold.

The more data we have on "best practices" and the easier they become to follow using AI....
