I wouldn't have expected one of my favorite live music moments of the year to be Spafford covering a Demi Lovato song in a sweaty basement in downtown Portland, but here we are.

Even if you don't know who Jeff Tweedy is yet, if you like guitar-based folk music, curiosity, and just thinking about and feeling stuff, you might get a kick out of this.

Today I'm here to tell everyone that Jon Fishman is the best living rock drummer. It's not a debate or a discussion, it's just a scientific fact. The man is and has always been an absolute freak of nature. I'll even cite my sources!

I've been obsessed with Everest since the early 2000s, and I've never seen any other footage of the mountain that comes anywhere close to this quality. It's absolutely amazing to watch. I'd venture that's true even if you don't care much at all about Everest, or about skiing.

Once, two years ago, Lindsey and I climbed Hogsback at sunset on purpose. Last Saturday, we did it again by mistake.

It was a really pretty night to be up there, though!

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.
