Guess what? Somebody at HBO Max/WBTV messed up, TOO!

Come on. I get why it's easy to blame Lionsgate. Blame flows downhill. Let's blame an intern, too! Like the way we blame the "social media intern" when a politician tweets something dumb.

Unless that intern ALSO activated the files on HBO Max…

I hope HBO Max acquires "Stand By Me" so that audiences can finally watch the Lardass pie-eating scene the way it was meant to be seen: With visible vomit crew!

Until then, we must leave our disbelief suspended.

Oh to be the man holding the tennis ball on a stick that will be digitally replaced with a fly on the wall of Matt Weiner's office when first he sees this.
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

So I'll leave aside the weirdness of trade-speak in this story — saying ANYBODY is "in talks" here is silly — I have no tolerance for a reporter cutting-and-pasting the synopsis for "The Power Broker" from Robert Caro's website and not putting the word-for-word theft in quotation marks.
Matthew Rhys Is In Talks With Netflix Over Adaptation Of Robert Caro’s ‘The Power Broker’
Matthew Rhys is in talks with the streamer over the adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book.

All I'm saying, "It: Welcome to Derry," is that if you're not among the first 10 or 20 movies or television shows to do the "Black-and-white episode/movie in which the monochromatic aesthetic is punctuated by bursts of unsettling red" thing, maybe you want to reconsider the visual gambit.

Glad the Democrats finally are getting talking points from Mel Kiper Jr., though he can't keep obsessing about how small America's hands are.

Clark Kellogg, in contrast, prefers to rave about America's spurtability, while Tony Romo keeps predicting an RPO for the USA.

Other than Shakespeare, I'm pretty sure that Stoppard is the playwright whose work I've seen performed the most, including at least three productions of "Arcadia." Always impossibly brainy. Always adroitly funny. At his best, emotionally devastating as well. One of the best to ever do it. #RIP
Tom Stoppard, Cerebral Storyteller for Stage and Screen, Dies at 88
The British playwright won acclaim for 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead,' 'The Real Thing' and 'Leopoldstadt' and received an Oscar for 'Shakespeare in Love.'

I want you all to find something you love as much as football announcers on Thanksgiving and the day after love making jokes about turkey and tryptophan.

I've only seen two episodes, but I was mostly amused by HBO Max/Crave's "What if Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin were canoodling?" hockey rom-dram "Heated Rivalry."

It's "Queer As Puck"! It puts the "bone" in "zamboni"! The "twink" in "rink"!
‘Heated Rivalry’ Review: HBO Max’s Horny Hockey Drama Is a Playful Gay Romance for Grown-Ups
'Letterkenny' co-creator Jacob Tierney wrote and directed the six-part series about a pair of rising hockey stars who fall into a steamy affair.

Time for us all to gather together to watch the greatest Thanksgiving movie ever made, “The Last Waltz.”

Coming to Netflix in time for Thanksgiving, "Perducken: A Person on the Inside of a Duck on the Inside of a Chicken." From Ryan Murphy.
Just realized that in consecutive weeks, Netflix released "The Beast in Me" and "A Man on the Inside." Somebody in Netflix development has a very confused idea of internal biology.

I says to Angie, "Angie," I says, "Based on the headline, this makes no sense to me. Will it make sense to me after I read the whole story?"

It makes significantly LESS sense.

[Angie did not claim otherwise.]

Resolved: Next presidential election, instead of a tasteless imbecile, let's elect a president willing to pressure studios to make additional "Master & Commander" movies or, at the VERY least, a wrap-up season of "The Society" that answers some basic questions.
I teased this last night in What I’m Hearing but now confirmed: Paramount WILL release Rush Hour 4 after prodding from Trump on behalf of Brett Ratner. Distribution deal. Producer Tarak Ben Ammar is lining up financing. Get ready for the dumbest possible state-controlled media.

Look, No.1 on the Variety comedies list is ridiculous and close to unjustifiable, but the number of people in the comments here claiming that "Fargo" ISN'T a comedy (and lying that nobody has watched "Tootsie" in 30 years and that it isn't brilliant) serves as a reminder of humor's subjectivity.
The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!

It doesn't make me happy that my entire enjoyment of a show set in 1906 can be torpedoed by a reference to "tiramisu," but even if your show thrives on anachronisms, you can't have a reference to tiramisu in 1906.

I saw @sepinwall.bsky.social at 34th Street orientation day at the DP and thought, "You can do THAT as your job?"

[It's actually probably more about reading Pauline Kael from a very young age, but it's important to honor the elders.]
Saw these guys on tv, thought, “you can do THAT as your job?”

The "Conjuring" and "Paranormal Activity" franchises have 16 entries, of which I've seen done, which I say as neither a point of pride nor shame. That's just... more than the normal number of franchise entries for me to not see. Maybe I'll watch "The Conjuring" tonight.

I still refuse to give Greene credit for calling out the bullshit.

It's aftermath (hopefully) of a frat party to end all frat parties. MTG's staggering out and doing the walk of shame before SOME. She didn't clean up and she's still covered in puke and she's already planning a rager of her own..
In her resignation statement, MTG breaks very dramatically with the secret-plan conspiracy theorists about what’s happening in DC.

You might say she's looking for a Greene New Deal.

I wouldn't, though.
