Ceridwen has surprisingly few scars, considering. She has faded ones on one arm from a kraken that almost killed her, a round scar next to her heart on her chest and back, a small cut she let scar the first time she beat Lucanis in a sparring match, and a few on her forearms from hasty blood magic.

I don't think anything beats the whole Young Wizards series by Diane Duane for hitting me like a sack of bricks at an impressionable age. "In life's name, and in life's sake" got me through a lot, and these books are partly to blame for why I'm the way I am about grief in fiction.

I don't think anything beats the whole Young Wizards series by Diane Duane for hitting me like a sack of bricks at an impressionable age. "In life's name, and in life's sake" got me through a lot, and these books are partly to blame for why I'm the way I am about grief in fiction.
