I’m a transgender writer.

I’m not your punching bag. Not your project. Not your scapegoat. Not your villain.

I’ve survived worse than your pearl clutching outrage—and I’m still loud, proud and here to stay.

My existence is not up for debate.

As awful and stupid as Trump Term II is, and despite my expectations it'd be very bad and very dumb, some things are still so stupidly bad that my brain rejects them.

"No way," I involuntarily think. "That's just too dumb, even for this." But it's real.

This post is about Dan Bongino. (This time.)

Anita Bryant is a perfect cautionary tale about how being a hateful asshole will almost always erase all of your other accomplishments. I've always heard she was a popular singer (who was also a spokesperson for Florida orange juice) but have never heard one of her songs played anywhere.

Black musicians, composers, music scholars predated the Renaissance and, not surprisingly, existed outside of the Western world. Let’s stop pretending composition, musicology, and music theory only existed in Europe.

Early Black Musicians, Composers, and Music Scholars (505-1505 CE)
While musing about how exclusion of Blacks is built into music academia as a colonial driven knowledge system, I (as usual) posted those thoughts to a twitter thread It was obviously not my first. …

The early years of the AIDS epidemic was hell.

People would stop coming to the gym or club and you'd find out they were dying or dead.

Because HIV was transmitted through sex, it made human intimacy deadly.

Pres. Reagan did not mention AIDS for years - because he did not give a damn about us.

If we want better fashion culture in the US, we have to lower the cost of housing and commercial real estate, support independent craftspeople, build denser neighborhoods, improve walkability, and get rid of overly restrictive zoning laws. Let kook culture thrive.

Important, vital, of the essence, that a Democratic-led Senate confirm the reappointment to the National Labor Relations Board of current Board Chair Lauren McFerran — whose term expires on Dec. 16, 2024.

Elsewise: Trump's NLRB will wreak havoc on organized labor.

Please re-skeet.
