Car parking levy is great and all, but calling it a congestion charge seems misguided when no doubt any reduction in congestion of people with the city as a destination will just be picked up by people who are trying to drive through the city.

My Halloween Down Under hot take is that the sugar, commercialisation and importation of American culture is gross, but it's a small price to pay to see people taking over the streets and walking around and enjoying their neighbourhood.

I guess wind turbine syndrome stopped being plausible, so now it's just straight up bullying? www.theage.com.au/environment/...

This is an awesome report, full of evidence and actionable recommendations to help kids walk to school. We urge Councillors to read it, and follow its recommendations, such as implementing modal filters to reduce the volume and speed of motor vehicle traffic in the neighbourhoods around schools.

I got new Mitsubishi electric ACs with the official wifi build in. Trying to get them setup has been way more frustrating that my own adhoc esphome one.

You know someone's had a bad day when there's a detached valve next to a public bike work station.

Someone needs to make a drill attachment for winding back on toilet paper rolls for people with young kids and cats.

The nice thing about travelling by bike is that you can see things along the way and change plans. Zoo trip has suddenly turned into Footscray Blacksmith Festival trip.

Not a bad day for riding.

My son heard that mum is going boating today. No amount of explaining will convince him that the polling booth isn't full of water and boats.

If car drivers are regularly hitting the tim-tam separators, the solution should NOT be then to remove them so that nothing stands between the drivers and the cyclists.

If you're not good enough a driver to miss a tim-tam, you're not good enough a driver to miss a cyclist.

The bike lane on Sommerville Rd in Yarraville/Kingsville is non protected and is mostly in the car door zone with large container trucks passing right next to it. Other times it just combines with the traffic lanes like this. The woman who was run over by a truck here 22nd Jan is lucky to be alive.

The Dynon Rd rainbow bridge and Footscray Rd green bridge have appeared finished for months after being built as part of the West Gate Tunnel project. Cyclist advocates now accuse the Vic gov of delaying the opening of vital infrastructure for political convenience www.theage.com.au/national/vic...
Bike bridges were built months ago but are still closed
The bridges over Footscray Road and Dynon Road remain fenced off, forcing cyclists to stay on dangerous roads.

Hooray for class action lawsuits. Had I ignored the email that looked like spam 2 years ago, and not bothered to fill in a gigantic form, I wouldn't be $3.55 richer right now.
