I'm kind of in a bad headspace RN because I found out we need to fight our health insurance over covering something big, so I don't think there's any way I can keep working on my #Cosmichorrorsjam entry. Good luck to everyone else

Rigged Base mesh for #cosmichorrorsjam, trying a different approach this time, with every body part being separate objects. It does make rigging super easy and no weird warping at joints, but also slightly higher poly count than a manifold model like I usually do (944 tris vs ~500 vs manifold)

Reading up on ps1 aesthetics. I was an n64 kid so I don't have much of a mental image/nostalgia for it. Luckily there's tons of tutorials out there

day 1 for #cosmichorrorsjam : Not much visually to show so far, I decided to go with a resident-evil 1 style 3rd person fixed camera horror game, set on the moon. I have the charecter controller set up and walking/interacting right now (mostly re-used a controller from a previous project).

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.
What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.
It also dismantles their narrative a little bit.
