Annoyed this morning. Watching local news coverage of all the fires in socal and they interrupt it for a special report on Trump. I've got friends and family in the threat zone but sure, this is more important. 😑 Just turned it off in disgust.

Still trying to figure out the mechanics of Bluesky. Seeing a lot of people suggest starter packs so I finally picked one to follow. That act created a substantial increase in people following me, most of whom were not in that starter pack. Not sure what mechanism causes that.

Also, holy shit, Bluesky sends real traffic. Will update this tomorrow with firm numbers but journalism is going to move here for sure. Twitter is a drop in the bucket. It's over, but we are so back, and so on and so forth

Never was a Twitter user, but I'm a fan of decentralized networks. This already feels a lot slicker than Mastodon. I'll give this a go, if for no better reason than to help disrupt the current social media landscape. We need some new networks to reach and maintain critical mass.
