Hi all! Sorry for my recent absence here.

Reason: I've joined Threads' Content Creator Program, so most of my focus has gone to posting there (same handle). I only have time for so many platforms.

*Totally get it* if Threads isn't your thing, but that's where I'm spending most of my time for now.

Finally got around to snapping some shots of Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. The stainless steel is beautiful and goes a long way toward hiding the odd circle-on-a-squircle design, and the return of the physical bezel is also welcome. More early thoughts on IG at @theMrMobile with YouTube video coming soon!

Adding to a fairly long list of “FINALLY”s today: Samsung’s most portable smartphone now supports DeX! Haven’t gotten the Flip7 fully running on the NexDock review unit yet, but at least wireless functionality seems to be present. DeXheads, rejoice!

I've been waiting for Samsung to get back to competitive foldables for years ... and the Galaxy Fold 7 might finally get us there.

I'd rather have an ugly phone than a boring one.

Pretty sure it's gonna be Not Great, given Unihertz's prior efforts and my very early first impressions. But it's so cheap it might be worth a spin just to try out. No time for a video, at least not for a while.

(Disclosure, I'm co-founder of a mobile keyboard company, etc etc)

It's basically the same Razr as last year, so why bother reviewing it?

1) It's even cheaper, bringing foldables to still more people
2) It's the perfect phone for a "re-tox" following my Light experiment
3) I got to do it in Paris, thanks to VivaTech

I'm too heavy for the Light Phone – but I had an amazing 2 weeks figuring that out.

I took Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge to Google I/O to see if the reality is as confusing as the concept.

The result was a surprisingly positive experience – but I'd still consider the Edge a lightweight.

Motorola already had the best flip foldable – and the Razr Ultra cements its lead in features, specs & style.

But it's not flawless. There's only 1 good camera; it's buggier than Razr '24; and the AI is meh (shocker, I know).

Then again: WOOD!

Samsung's 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge pushes no real boundaries and, at $1099, seems poised to steal sales from the more interesting Galaxy Flip.

Given Motorola's release of a 5.2mm phone 9 years ago, it's tough to get excited about life on this particular "edge."

The Minimal Phone isn't a dumb phone – it's a "diet phone." And if it shakes off its many bugs, it could be the best option for many folks looking to scale back their screen time.

Going "minimal" (ish) with the Minimal MP01 this weekend.

Curious beast for sure. E-paper display meets a full QWERTY keyboard and Android 14. The idea is: all the apps you need, but enough friction to prevent mindless scrolling.

Review sample provided by Minimal. Video soon!

the terrible implementation of AI in search will do more harm to AI’s reputation than good. Search engines shouldn’t be answer engines! they should help you navigate the internet! mixing the two just creates an inferior product and also an absolute dumbass.

Tired of featureless glass & metal phones? Good *lord* so am I – and so is Motorola.

The new #Razr family leans even harder into CMF, with options across all three (!) models for faux leather or satin, Alcantara ... and WOOD!

I've been waiting ten years for another wooden phone. Yes, really. More👇
