It's shocking how devastating the impact of Trumps idiotic tariff has been so far

This feels like the tip of the iceberg

I can't even imagine the industries that are going to fail because it's too expensive to exist

I think the ultimate irony of stuff like this is that if companies did nothing in regards to AI and just ignored it, they'd probably come out better off once the bubble bursts

As someone with zero persistent tabs between browsing sessions and who, at most, utilizes 10-20 tabs a time while browsing, can someone please explain to me WHAT IN THE FUCK PEOPLE WHO HAVE HUNDREDS OF TABS ARE FUCKING DOING

My wife is a big Who's Line is it Anyway fan and I'm seriously considering getting her a subscription to Dropout because it feels like they're doing the next evolution of the WLIIA concept but with even better performers that surprise you at every turn

Truly a cast of generational talents
strangely inspirational

YouTube is systematically removing the subscription feed by progressively hiding it from the main navigation panel until it's been removed entirely

It really feels like the entire world is falling apart and shit like this is the seams showing
huh, they must've used a pre-VFX version of the masters; this isn't an example of a different crop, because you can see that the original scene (see here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvRH...) looks the same in that respect... it's just that the crew member & equipment were removed in post

Something that really frustrates me as a parent is how hostile most environments are to kids

I fully agree that no one should have to strap their kid to their chest to stay employed like this

But I also think it should be not just fine but encouraged to bring your kids to SAFE work environments

One of the great failures of modern gaming is convincing players they can play for an unlimited amount of time and not get bored

Mate, you played the same game for SEVENTY FIVE FUCKING HOURS

Do literally anything for 75 hours and see how fun it stays...

It really bothers me how people treat VR as some sort of secondary novelty medium when anyone that's truly into VR gaming will tell you it is probably the single most immersive and compelling way to experience video games

It's a deeply underrated and unappreciated medium capable of pure magic
This impossible game from the studio behind one of 2019's best puzzlers is already melting my brain - and proves VR still has the power to amaze

Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give

I think if I started logging every tech issue or bug I run into during the day, the thread would become a novel in like a week

It's astonishing just how buggy the modern world is

I've been looking for a modern iPod equivalent and it's kind of shocking how EVER mainstream music player is basically just a crappy smartphone running an old version of android. It feels like there's ZERO intentionality in these devices...

Trump's ex-wife Ivana handled all of his business deals until their divorce in 1990

After the divorce, he took over running his businesses and almost immediately started filing for bankruptcies and taking massive loans to float himself down a river of shit

Collateral is one of the craziest movie productions ever

It was one of the first films ever shot on both film and digital
They pioneered using LED panels for lighting
It was one of the last films shot in LA with the old sodium vapor street lights
AND Tom Cruise plays a villian in it...

WILD stuff

Silksong’s fascination with religion is obvious from the beginning. But only in examining the game’s conclusion(s) does its perspective become clear — this is a story about the apocalyptic finish line, a story about the end of stories. And it is also about what comes after.

The fact that the victims of one of the most widespread child sex trafficking rings of the modern age have to hope for a bill to pass the Senate and be signed by a President that is a key perpetrator in the ring is INSANE

These people deserve justice and NOTHING should stop that from happening
Let’s be clear: the DOJ has already been subpoenaed to release these files to the Oversight Committee, and the deadline to turn them over has come and gone.

Now that this has passed in the House, the Senate needs to do its job, and the President needs to sign it.

It makes a lot more sense when you realize TGA is just marketing for successful publishers and not actually an awards show for the games they made
TGA is weird this year because I think the GOTY lineup is very good, but a lot of the other noms are INCREDIBLY suspect

E33 taking up half the performance noms, the RPG noms are baffling, no Sonic 3 in best adaptation

Tons of great games just got nothing this year
