I thought I read somewhere that Elon’s grandfather was deep into Apartheid rule as well.
If you want to have an easy, digestible way to learn about Apartheid, read Trevor Noah’s book, Born a Crime. This is still recent history, as Trevor is only 41, so his experience is not in the distant past.
Rotten apples don’t fall far from the tree.

Forgot to mention that I finished my last Adobe Creative course project this past Tuesday and am anxiously awaiting the grade so I can start to put this behind me.

Call me crazy (well, I know I am), but I was actually thinking about this song the other day, and I just saw it in my Instagram feed:

Get familiar with the unlikely success of Italian singer Adriano Celentano's 1972 song 'Prisencolinensinainciusol', which defied language barriers and became a cult classic.

Working on the last project for my Animate class. OMG, I don't like Animate! Conceptually, I understand exactly what I want to do. In practicality, even with reviewing the lessons again for what should be basic functions, I can't get my project to do what I want it to do. Hope I can finish tomorrow.

Walmart decreasing the number of items offered in order to make a Thanksgiving sale affordable isn't the "win" that trump wishes Americans would pretend it is

A sales promotion at Walmart doesn't hide the fact that millions of Americans are facing hunger this Thanksgiving as a result of gop policy.

FINALLY! I finished the coursework & exam for the last tool of my Adobe Creative Professional course. Just need to complete my 3 projects, get good grades on those, & then I can turn in my grades to get reimbursed by my company. THEN I'll study for the certification exam.Wish I finished this sooner!

I'm not against holidays from other cultures. But when it involves fireworks, & they are setting them off at 10 PM (when it's been dark since 6 PM), & it's likely that they'll keep going on until late, it makes for a cranky neighbor. The noise is just disrespectful on a work/school night this late.

I'm a PC gal. Always prefer a PC. But there are times that Windows is being a jerk. Have spent the better part of the day trying to extract a "work"/Exchange account from my personal laptop, and it's been a nightmare trying to get all the elements out & keep my machine working.

Gawd, I'm stupid sometimes. I'm away with my personal laptop, and I couldn't figure out why the fonts on my laptop screen were so small (I usually have it hooked up to a monitor). It's bc the browser was set to 80%, not 100%. DUH.

It's pretty much pitch black outside and it's barely 7 PM. And we're still in daylight savings time. I HATE IT!

This came up on my Calm app jams as I work late on a Sunday. When I read the title, Amy Pohler & Maya Rudolph playing Brooklyn housewives saying, “Sweatah Westhah” fast came to mind.

This is much like what's going on in DC. From what I'm told by friends who live there, it's a similar situation--in fact, DC is actually safer and calmer than it has been in years.
Every single one of these clips was taken today in downtown Portland. Portland doesn’t want or need a federal takeover. If Trump insists on sending federal “resources” he can start with funding health care, bridges, affordable housing, and wildfire protection to name a few.

Troops to Portland? Illegal and absurd. But the absurdity is the point. Trump policy is to ignore real threats to US security coming from abroad and use the armed forces to pursue imaginary threats from within, thereby creating an atmosphere suitable for personal rule. (1/2)

And also men who are only interested in having multiple children that they likely aren't the primary caretakers for (all of them have loads of children, don't they? Each Trump has 5, Musk has something like 10-12 now, and Kennedy had a load of them too).

RFK Jr., Makary, Bhattacharya and Oz continue to downplay or outright reject the role of genetics in autism spectrum disorder.

They cannot accept that they cannot control the uncontrollable. They try to change reality to fit their illusion because they won’t acknowledge the limits of their power.

Feeling proud of myself. Prepping for a long distance driving trip for next week, and I thought my car battery was starting to go bad. Brought it to a car parts store to check, and yup, it was starting to go bad. Glad I caught that now instead of hundreds of miles away from home! Got a new one. Yay!

This thread.
Just reupping. When a grifter flanked by 2 snake-oil salesmen lackeys points at 2 things&says they're linked, the press doesn't have to attend to "nuance" & "uncertainty" bc these are grifters making shit up. We went through this w/the Wakefield shit & what are the lessons learned?
The autism announcement was a full-on grift. Eugenicist exploitation of autism as “threat” is all for $. They’ve been at it for 20+ years& some of us have seen this over&over. There is no uncertainty to be earnestly explored here. It. Is. Grift.

Excited about my road trip to a #techcomm conference soon. Booked my hotel for my pitstop on the way there & back (although I'm making 2 pitstops on the way home incl a visit to my brother & his family) & booked my hotel parking during the conference. I'm set!

Now ABC parent company Disney suspends Kimmel as it seeks DOJ approval to buy Fubo — and its affiliate Nexstar seeks FCC approval to buy Tegna.

This was actually the role of royal jesters as well. They were usually the smartest guys there, and they'd have the ear of the king to point out issues. Comedy has always poked fun at power--that's a big part of its role in our culture.
They know what they’re doing.
