My father died when I was a baby. One of the things about which he was most passionate was baseball - specifically, the Cubs.

I remember when they showed the Tigers score on the scoreboard and the entire stadium erupted
I remember that day well. A bunch of people in our section in Michigan Stadium had radios to listen to the Tigers game and kept sharing updates - it was the one thing to bring Wolverines and Spartans together amidst an otherwise boring (but thoroughly enjoyable) football game.
