Garland’s last possible shot at redeeming his legacy and our democracy lies in putting Smith’s final report into the public square. In more genteel times, it would be nailed to the Capitol door. Symbolism aside, I’d be happy with a simple PDF. Not as romantic, but way easier to disseminate.

Three former sheriff’s deputies in Virginia Beach, Virginia, were indicted Friday on murder charges in connection with the death of an inmate who had been held at the city jail last year, according to the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
