A lot of people get parenting autistic children wrong. And I'm going to explain how in the simplest of terms.

They think autistic kids need to learn how to tolerate things they find intolerable, because... "that's life." (1)

After abandoning every mitigation and infecting kids repeatedly, our media wants to know: why do so many children have Long COVID?

My latest looks at the newest research, the comforting lies that just won't die, and how we got here:

Long COVID is Now the Number One Chronic Illness in Children
Repeatedly mass infecting kids with COVID is not a public health strategy. It's a fast pass to declining population health

if we are lucky, we will all grow old enough to one day be disabled.

it’s the only marginalized status that every single person on Earth can move into.

this can happen through no fault of your own.

start accommodating for your future self.

How bad is this flu year? (See the purple line)

We’ve had 1300 more hospitalizations than by this point last year: 5224 vs ~3902

Last year (blue) was the 2nd worst flu year in Colorado history.

And we've had *34% more hospital admissions for flu* than last year … (On top of all the COVID)

Hey, y’all 🫶🏻

You co-signed RFK Jr's eradication of disabled people the moment you took your mask off when the government said it was ok to do so.

Fauci's "the vulnerable will fall by the wayside" and RFK Jr's "autistic people don't contribute" are two sides of the same eugenics coin.
Fauci saying elderly and immunocompromised people will "fall by the wayside" and RFK Jr's speech about autistic people are two sides of the same eugenics coin.

How so, you ask? ⬇️

It helps to learn about linguistic prescription and its roots in white supremacy.

The opposite of prescription is description. Language naturally evolves with fluidity, has diversity, and can only be described.

That's why no one really uses Esperanto.

I feel like we need to have baby steps for protestors, too. We’ve been too propagandized for too long and need to find our sea legs. We need all the kinds of protest to be able to stop fa$cism.
Mass movements aren't about who is the coolest punk with the most cred. They're about mobilizing a coalition that will not be made up of just the most hardcore.

It’s never too late to start wearing a mask. Now more than ever it’s important to protect your health & the health of others

No one is coming to save us, but we can save each other

A well fitted respirator (like an N95) protects against Covid & shows solidarity with disabled & marginalized people

This one goes hand in hand with "why are you making everything about autism"...

Because, in my brain, everything IS about my autism. Not a thought passes through it without being impacted in some way by my autistic brain wiring.

When people ask me when I'm going to stop wearing a mask, my new response is "have you see what's happening to public health in America? Do you think there will be any support if you get Long Covid?"

BTW, April is Autism Acceptance Month.

I think this—that Autists are more likely to do the moral thing when no one is looking —is why a lot of us continue to wear KN95/N95s.

I’d rather do the right thing to protect my health and community than the popular thing. My own definition of integrity.
Fun fact... autistic people are more likely to stick to their morals when nobody is looking (as compared to nonautistic people). Aka... we have a strong and unwavering sense of what we feel is right.

Let me know if you'd like me to talk more about this...

#AutismAcceptanceMonth starts tomorrow. Please don't give to Autism Speaks; their $$ rarely supports autistic people/families, and their 'awareness' work portrays autistic people as burdens, not humans. From @autisticadvocacy.org, a good org to support instead.

Did you know? Masking is an intersectional practice. SARS disproportionately affects marginalized groups.

It’s a working & labor class / feminist / trans & LGTBQIA+ / BIPOC / poor & housing-insecure / 🍉 & Geno-side / resistance issue. Read thread below for links.
The ongoing Covid pandemic is an intersectional justice issue. Oppressed peoples are disproportionately harmed. Masking shows an ethic of intersectional justice. Not masking shows no such ethic. Choosing not to mask is to ignore oppressed peoples.

WE THE PEOPLE DEMANDED - PROTESTED - and - VOTED for the government to help us by creating these initiatives, programs, offices, and services. DOGE is the fraud, taking away our government right in front of us. Wake up, y’all.
It's time to share this again. Every Federal Agency was created to PROTECT CITIZENS from threats WE DEMANDED they do so. We were DYING from corporate greed. Corporations pay for these agencies. It cuts into their profits. Don't let GOP end the protections our parents & grandparents fought for.
