I suspect that many policymakers don't think women have interior lives.
+ women are not a special interest group! We are not homogenous! We are half the population!

That seems to be missing from the discourse every single time.

The president of the United States thinks asylum-seekers come from mental asylums.

He says it in almost every interview where the topic of migration comes up.

How is this not 25th Amendment territory? How is he not an embarrassment to this entire country?

Hi, I’m God.

Jesus and I agree that starving the poor so you can build yourself golden bathrooms and golden ballrooms is evil. Anyone who does that shall burn for eternity. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

If I'd kept my hat on during the national anthem, my dad would have slapped it off my head. But Trump is a draft dodger and a traitor, so of course that kind of thing doesn't matter to him.

When RMIT decided to junk a rare, $160k weaving loom, a group of artists, teachers and students united to rescue it. The story of this loom felt like a snapshot of everything that’s wrong with how we treat arts and crafts in tertiary education, so I wrote this:

Despite what President Trump said tonight, social security is not, in fact, rife with fraud. @wired.com’s

Elon Musk claims to have found rampant fraud in the Social Security Administration. There’s a much simpler explanation.

The year I was 5 only me and one other girl from our main friend group survived a measles outbreak.

No prizes for guessing why.

Half my kindergarten class didn’t make it to first grade.

But now we have public health campaigns that keep us all up to date, for free.

Viva el Peru carajo
The first measles death in the US in a decade -- the tragic, preventable death of a child whose parents chose not to protect them with vaccination -- should spark an immediate nation-wide campaign to ensure all children are protected against preventable diseases. Anything less is unconscionable.

Listen, Broligarchy is not some cute synonym for oligarchy. It's genuinely different & WAY more dangerous.

I'm a sociologist who's been studying the ultra-rich globally for 17 yrs, entering their world as an offshore wealth mgr. Published 2 books abt them.

🧵Broligarchs are distinct in 3 ways:
There’s a sort of Trump apologist, a relatively small but loud subset, who probably don’t realize or intend to be, but are so attached to a previous hyperbolic claim that they deny anything important changed.

-US was already an oligarchy
-US was already fascist
-Biden gave Israel a blank check
