I think about these numbers a lot when fandom spaces expect 50-100k fics back to back to back. Do folks realize fic writers are churning out novel after novel? Do they realize how long it takes many folks to write fiction of the same length?

I had the absolute pleasure of writing a little #Taejoon oneshot for @btsgothiquefest.bsky.social & this was my first time trying out the genre.

Fun fact. At ~7.4K, this is the shortest fest fic I’ve ever written, beating I Spy With My Eye…a Perplexity handily.

as a writer it's vitally important to have 3-10 wips so that when one of them isn't working you can cycle through the others in proxy productivity. this will allow you to continuously be Not Quite Done with so many projects at the same time
