I have two laptops: a 2017 MacBook Pro with a defective butterfly keyboard that has been replaced once and is dying again, now with repeating d and g, and a 2020 Samsung Galaxy Chromebook with a defective trackpad that dies every few minutes. Related to my lack of writing productivity? 🤔

NPR needs to fire Steve Inskeep. I’ve had more than enough of his Zionist, Islamophobic interviews and reporting

These are the senators who are about to vote to destroy us by caving on the shutdown for nothing in return. You can call and leave a message since it's Sunday, and try again tomorrow when they're open at 9am.

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

The strike is ON! Stay your asses out of Starbucks! Find a local coffee or teahouse to get a real cup and put the money you save to better use!

*I looked but didn't see a link to a strike fund for workers so if there is one post it!
BREAKING: Starbucks baristas at Downtown Disney couldn’t stand another day of their managers’ unfair labor practices & kicked off our nationwide strike this weekend. These workers have shut down one of largest Starbucks stores in the country — and we’re just getting started! #NoContractNoCoffee

I just did some essential editing on a WIP that I’ve been actively avoiding for months, and that hopefully will allow me to move forward again 😅

It seems like writing on my iPad lets me bypass some of the anxiety/avoidance I’ve developed around sitting down to work on fic.

Looks like SOMEONE had a very tiring day snoozing while others dealt with leaves today

turns out ethiopian dishes are less delicious if you use 2 T instead of the 2 c of butter the dish calls for

I need to cook, but after three hours of fighting a losing battle against autumn leaves, what I want is to cuddle my dog and be waited upon. Alas.

I'm one of the four fired employees. I was a writer & producer at Bon Appétit for nearly five years, during which I helped organize our union and sat on our bargaining committee.

I am, to my knowledge, the only trans woman in our union and the only trans woman on editorial who doesn't work at Them
New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.

When the Teen Vogue news dropped a couple days ago, my first thought was, what’s next, Wired?

Yep. And next I guess Rolling Stone.
This is a really hard day and I want to just add as WIRED's politics editor -- WIRED's politics reporting isn't going anywhere. We are very much here and won't stop.

Please continue to read and support us - canceling your subscription to WIRED is not standing in solidarity with our journalists.
The key thing to watch here: they fired a Wired political reporter. That’s the title doing the most effective, pointed work. Teen Vogue’s stuff was culturally impactful, but less focused on investigating the administration. Within the Condé portfolio, Wired and the New Yorker are the canaries.
