according to an immigration attorney representing several arrested workers, ICE agents chose to arrest the Korean workers to fulfill the quota of 3,000 daily immigrant arrests set by Stephen Miller www.forbes.com/sites/stuart...
Stephen Miller’s Quota Likely Drove Korean Arrests In Immigration Raid
When ICE agents arrested over 300 Korean workers at a Georgia battery plant, a daily immigrant arrest quota was likely on their minds.

Here are some tweets from Charlie Kirk over just the last few days. They are an impressive mix of hatred towards: Blacks, immigrants, women, immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQ, academics.

Just kinda staring into space wondering what it all means, where it all ends, how we return to sanity, how we engage the people who don't know and don't care, what I'm supposed to do right now.

One thing that everyone with any sense will have to do over the next few years is to refuse to accept lies and bullshit.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

70 years ago, on this date, Emmett Till was kidnapped and brutally murdered by white men.

His family, including his cousin who was with him at the time, is repeating the train ride he took from Chicago to Mississippi in 1955 to mark the anniversary

Buddy, I can see mountains reflected in the eyes of a trailside pika.

Apparently, ChatGPT released a new version and some people have been distressed, like they lost a friend in the old “personality.” From “miss dearly” to “devastated.”

I don’t have any disparaging commentary—I’m just concerned for the people who are so dangerously dependent on these things.

It’s amazing to me that so many good people are crippled by self doubt and self criticism, while so many bad people operate under the delusion they’re martyred saints.

Yasmein and her kids are still trying to cling to normalcy as best they can.
I've spoken to her many times, she's legit and your help DOES reach her.

Can you put in what you paid for lunch today? Maybe even just half??

I feel like the reason why far right propaganda is so effective and pervasive is because instead of offering solutions they offer excuses.

It always boils down to "All of your problems are because of someone else" which is like oldest and most basic grift around.

I think it’s simple that a person who doesn’t do a thing and instead allows a machine to do it for them can’t claim to be part of the group or history of the profession. An artist who doesn’t make the art isn’t an artist. A writer who doesn’t write is not a writer. It’s not the ideas but the making.

My friend once told me that it was in the interest of the military industrial complex for folks to be more comfortable with violence than with sex and that's always stuck with me. Fascism grows stronger as people become more accepting of war and intolerant to sex. Don't let that happen to you.

One of the creepiest things about fascism is learning you know people who support it, and that often they are essentially quite normal.

Not a revelation to learned people but still a shock to experience.

It's become clear that this administration is just a protracted war on anybody who's read a book without pictures in it. It's a miracle we're all still getting up and going to work every morning. The psychological drain is the point, and I'm increasingly grateful to the people who are still decent.

when you, years out from an election, say "i will vote for that triangulating shitbag throwing minorities under the bus because they'll still be better than the other guy" you need to understand that the triangulating shitbag is Watching You: "they'll still vote for me! no need to change course!"
