I don't care if you think that AI can do some really nifty things. It's being rammed down our throats by obscenely wealthy men who are also, obviously, both dangerously right-wing and mentally unstable, and no rational society should be allowing that to happen. End of discussion.

Sec. Kennedy must appear before the HELP Committee to explain why his vaccine advisory committee, in strong disagreement with the medical & scientific community, voted to end a decades-long recommendation that newborns receive the hepatitis B vaccine.

This vaccine saves lives.
Breaking News: A federal vaccine committee voted to end the decades-long recommendation that all newborns be immunized at birth against hepatitis B, a highly infectious virus that leads to chronic liver disease in most infected children.
An End to Hepatitis B Shots for All Newborns
A federal panel voted on Friday to recommend halting the at-birth shots for all infants, in a step toward Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s goal of upending the nation’s vaccine policy.

Respect Alice Wong’s call here:
“When I am in public spaces and see most people unmasked either because they think the virus is a hoax, that masking is virtue signaling & a sign of weakness, aren't thinking about it, or that they simply don’t care, I feel like an expendable burden not worth saving.”
COVID Isn’t Going Anywhere. Masking Up Could Save My Life.

I want everyone to know her work. I also want folks who aren’t masking when we share air to sit with what their actions are doing to people like Alice and to anyone who knows they don’t have the luxury of risking infection. Two way masking is best, and Alice’s disablity meant she couldn’t mask.

Remembering as Alice Wong and Leslie Lee III’s names are being said a lot:

People now eulogizing and donating to their GFMs were very recently saying—with patronizing, casual contempt—that their call for people to mask to protect and include disabled and vulnerable people was “unreasonable.”

Zack P: When are we going to have a cost of living special...?

Fiona Bruce: ...we talk about cost living every week..not sure why we need a special programme for it.

You talk about immigration every week. Yet, here we are, with a question time special on...immigration. Not sure that logic follows.

All the others were useless and in some cases just racist. And Zack was the only one who had anything sensible to say. The fact that he was able to cut through with an audience chosen on immigration in Dover is pretty damn impressive!

Zack Polanski is the first politician in a long while that's actually given me hope, and not made me feel dread.

A genuine force of change in this country, and a desperately needed one.

The right try and distract us by constantly talking about immigration.

Cost of Living, the NHS, the climate crisis - let's keep them on the agenda.

The Express is furious about this because the moment you show those who repeat anti-immigration rhetoric the real human stories their narrative collapses.

The “immigrants” are people. Our friends, colleagues and family.

And it’s this nation of neighbours that is what makes Britain great.

@zackpolanski.bsky.social absolutely sensational on Question Time. Actually made it feel like I'd gained something from watching it for once (although admittedly that may be because I put it on 2x speed whenever Zia Yusuf started talking).

When are we going to have a special on:
• The rise of the far-right
• The state of the NHS
• The severe lack of trans+ healthcare
• The constantly hiking rent
• The 1% who own half this country's wealth
• Stagnant wages for the working class
• The state of council homes
• The housing crisis

Bruce’s obvious right-wing bias is disturbing, to say the least, on a debate show such as QT. Zack Polanski handled the situation perfectly, acting like a true leader. His integrity, compassion, and honesty shone through and the audience responded.

Zack Polanski has that rare ability to communicate with ordinary people in a way that makes them feel valued & cared for. In these bleak times he gives people hope of a fairer future.
Very telling tonight on Question Time how much the Labour minister absolutely did not want me to talk.

Every time I even began a sentence he started to try and distract me.

It's not going to work on anyone.

While I think most literate people can be insightful and articulate in text form, if given enough time to collect their thoughts, it is a rare talent to be able to do that verbally, in real time, while responding to interruptions, hostile jibes or pointed questions and STILL get your point across.
