I guess I should do one of those introductory posts now.

I'm Jeff - I play guitar and write songs in the trad metal band Owlbear. You're mostly gonna see posts about music, tabletop RPGs, pixel art and miniature painting. I also worked on some of the fan translation of Sword World RPG sourcebooks.
This is just as surreal to me as it is to Leona. This changed the trajectory of everything.
Owlbear broke 100k streams on Feather & Claw in 6 months, this is very surreal to me. We're also closing in on 150k for CttR, and collectively 1/4 million between the two of them????

Forced to endure the toilet thoughts of Europeans who claim songs like A Little is a Little Too Much makes the new Helloween not a power metal album, while ignoring the existence of a songs like Perfect Gentleman.

You cannot take the opinions of Wind Rose enjoyers seriously.

Hello it’s me Sam Altman I have a zillion dollar idea it’s a chat bot that tells teenagers to kill themselves and you can generate csam with it and it poisons the air and water and it’s wrong most of the time and we’re going to put it in your refrigerator and stuff 👍 I need more money for this btw

I liked it better whan it was the tour hammering home the importance of hanging on to the people who mean something in your life and not the latest round of political accelerationism.

People use this thing like a search engine. It is currently dictating public policy.

A cycle-exact emulation of the Atari 2600 CPU running at a meager 1.19 MHz is more than enough to utterly humiliate ChatGPT in a game of chess....

Haven't posted much here on account of having way too many balls in the air right now, but the Owlbear tour starts in a week:

Calling your shows 'rituals' is just Naruto running for metal bands.

Epiphany: As much as I love Gundam, Macross protagonists are ultimateely more relatable for me because they by in large consistent of clueless neurodivergents who love giant robots and music and are incapable of interpreting the most blatant of signals from potential partners.

Returning to this account to say that if your profile picture on any social media platform on Al Gore's internet in 2025 involves you smoking a pipe you should be asked to leave. You are neither Sherlock Holmes nor J.R.R Tolkien, so exeunt, pursued by bear.

Purging all distraction and outside influence till I am reduced to an entity that does but four things - Writes his LANCER campaign, practices his band's music, paints miniatures and snuggles his cat.

I'm sure this cover choice is totally innocuous and has nothing to do with the political leanings of half this band. Anyway, I am once again asking when we can stop pretending Exodus was good and bands can stop trying to remake Bonded by Blood

It's the 35th anniversary of Fire Emblem, so everyone should go listen to the song @katyvscary.bsky.social and @thel8299.bsky.social wrote about the first game. Strong opinions on Manaketes featured here. #FireEmblem

When 7 people ask you for a slot in your LANCER game, a system which can definitely not accommodate that many players.

When I described AC/DC as 'the dumbest band ever', people need to understand that this is a highly contextualized statement and can be mean 'Dumbest band ever (derogatory)' or 'Dumbest band ever (complimentary)' based on the circumstances.

Every time I decide "Hey, maybe I should engage in TTRPG communities' more and do even the most meagre bit of poking about a Discord, I realize why I do not engage TTRPG communities, because the discourse around game design and mechanics is x10 worse than Death Metal Elitist Discourse(tm).

"Humans would do nothing without a profit motive." Tabletop roleplaying firmly disproves this - I just spent 3 hours making isometric maps for LANCER work in Foundry VTT.
