In Denmark, you get free healthcare, free university education, a solid state pension and 5-star public transport.

The USA have people going bankrupt to pay medical fees, many with huge student loan debts and ICE terror on top of it all.

The government sits and watches as Heba dies. It's heartbreaking, horrible, almost impossible to compute. Didn't people vote in the hope (however forlorn) of ending the Tories' psychopathic mode of government? Yet on it goes, under Keir Starmer. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

A dominant theme of Hitler's speeches in the late 1930s is that Germany was surrounded by threats. These threats were imaginary: it was Nazi Germany that threatened other nations. But they were used to justify pre-emptive attacks. Trump is following this script.

I knew Tory ministers could be cruel, unfeeling bastards. But the insouciance, even mockery, by Labour ministers towards people convicted of no crime, who are at imminent risk of death as a result of an unconscionable period on remand is on another level altogether. They are revelling in it.
