Just gonna say this again for games sphere cus we get the same question:
Networking doesn't mean schmoozing up to famous people, it means making friends with your peers. Then in 10 years, 20, one of you might be famous? And sure you're still helping each other cus well yeah friends.

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

I love my husband so much. He always makes sure that he finds or does something to make me happy. He knows how important it is to me to plan silly little warm and fuzzy moments so it keeps me sane/keeps me in touch with my inner childhood. Today was so special bc earlier this week

No matter HOW much time you spent on something - no matter how much of your skill and practice went into being able to do it - a complete stranger can IMMEDIATELY copy it into any number of things, take credit for it, and profit from it.

For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

Ever since I started getting a moka pot/coffee pods for at home coffee and supporting small local businesses when I want to rarely treat myself and go out it’s been so nice. I get to save money and also say fUCK Starbucks and their political bullshit. Not worth buying their coffee at all.

One of my favorite things is cuddling with my cat at night when it’s bedtime. It’s so funny bc cats are supposed to be crepuscular….yet mine comes to bed when I go to bed and he sleeps too LOL. but only for a few hours then he’s up at like 4am/5am. Still funny tho that my bedtime is his.
