The difference between declaring and being honest and up front is in what you do.

People make up stuff all the time about who people are. Just remember it’s their choice to think that way. If they’re wrong, they’ll either figure it out or not.

Kinda wish there was a Star Trek lego game. Is there one?

A high school friend had an old Atari, or maybe a knockoff, so I actually got to play Pong when i visited her house.

More experiments with video editing. It's just a compilation of clips from my trip alone to visit #Niagra. I was in the area for work and had time to visit before returning home. I wanted to see the geologic wonder and check out the history.

When Force Awakens, and when Star Trek, premiered in the IMAX at Pacific Science Center,we were assigned to “edutain” guests in line (for hours) with hand-held #science activities.

#StarTrek fans were eager to engage about astronomy, astrobiology and exoplanets.

#StarWars fans were just annoyed.

I love it when little garbage cats develop the luxury of food snobbery. Yes he was tiny wet ball of fleas found in a ditch but now he's a velvet prince who wants the premium, organic, grain-free chicken in gravy, NOT the premium, organic, grain-free chicken au jus how dare you offer that garbage.

At times like this i really wish i could get my hands on some turnip pickles with a slice of beet and a hot pepper in the mix. Those are so tasty.

Not liking the salty olives at the moment.

It is cool how they correctly diagnosed the problem with previous search engines as being misaligned incentives from advertising and then just did the same thing again. Capitalism really is like Saurons ring lol

We can't expect others to truly understand how loud the trauma "noise" in our head is. We are responding to conditioning that is VERY effective in hijacking our attention & physiology.

This is why we can't just "gut" or "vibe" our way through recovery-- we need plans & tools.

CPTSD will try to storngarm you into constantly comparing your trauma & your progress to others'. Not only is this a trap to make you feel like garbage about your journey, it'll get you relating to other survivors w/ judgment & envy.

Don't bite. Refocus on your next baby step.

You are acceptable right here, right now, exactly as you are, exactly as you feel & function right now.

That does not mean you have to love where you are, or that you can't or shouldn't work to realistically change if you choose-- it means you don't "have" to hate yourself now.

If I let myself go on autopilot, I'd never stop hating myself or doing things that sabotage my goals. That's what trauma conditioning does to us-- & why we have to CHOOSE compassionate self-discipline (not bullsh*t "tough love"), even (especially!) when it feels "unnatural."

I would like to bring awareness to a trauma response that no one talks about:

Compulsive lying.

Some who have been serious trauma learned lying to survive. And we truly shame this SO hard in the therapeutic community that they don't get help. Because they can't.

Please be more compassionate.

Alicia Colson's critique of rock-painting studies urges scholars to reject colonial frameworks, honor Algonquian worldviews, restore context, and genuinely listen to Indigenous knowledge.

This fossil is of a lobed-finned fish named Osteolepsis macrolepidotus and was found in Scotland. The Devonian Period (named after fossils first found in Devon, England), is known as "The age of fishes" and was fish transformed into three major groups: lobe-finned, ray-finned, and sharks.
