Wow. Lenacapavir, a twice-yearly shot that prevents HIV spread was just approved by the FDA.

The problem? Due to government cuts to Medicaid, PEPFAR, and Global Fund, it's unlikely this game-changing drug will reach the many people who need it most in the US and globally.

yep. food deserts are a mechanical consequence of how the private grocery store market has evolved. they simply will not be fixed without state action of some kind
The freakout about the Zohran government possibly opening some groceries store in food deserts is fascinating because the simplest way for capital to route around it would be for businesses just open up there and obviate the need but they appear unwilling/uninterested in doing so, so govt steps in.

Whenever you hear conservative politicians preach from the gospel of "fiscal responsibility," remember that one of the biggest drivers of deficits lately are the Bush and Trump tax cuts, which have added nearly $10 trillion to the national debt.

He's running on making buses free. If he wins, he's going to try to make buses free and a lot of people are going to fight for that not to happen. If free buses are important to you, then you need to organizing towards that. I don't know what else there is to say. Nothing 'just happens' on our side.

Wild to me that the folks who wouldn’t take Covid vaccines because they feared they were being microchipped for tracking purposes has no problem with RFK suggesting that everyone should wear monitoring devices “for their health”.

A few years ago, he tried to join the white power terrorist group "the Base," but was rejected for being a “huge liability."

We’re here now. The thing everyone said would never happen. The thing that contrarian journalists, political pundits, and Google doctors dismissed as hysteria.

People who want vaccines may not be able to get them due to deliberate sabotage and erosion of public trust.

a) planning to pass a large de facto pay cut for federal employees
b) force employees who want to keep civil service protections to pay even more

No, this is what you voted for. You all even waved signs supporting it.

Don’t let them pretend they didn’t know, they did.

Sad destruction and waste. A loss to youth and communities just to make the filthy rich even richer.
It was announced at the end of May that the U.S. Department of Labor and the Trump administration will be pausing Job Corps centers across the country, including Chicopee. Story: thereminder.com/local-news/...

Trump Lied About Grocery Prices
Trump seems to have given up on making groceries cheaper. Wasn't that what the entire election was supposedly about?

There’s massive and increasing gender based violence against women. Preparing women, telling them the reality, and showing them statistics isn’t sexism. It’s fact that men are the main perpetrators of violence and not by a small percentage.

Here's a fun thing that a top donor to Andrew Cuomo's super PAC just told me.

We have enough for shared prosperity. But Republicans want forced pain so the billionaires like Zuck who is a 13% Meta shareholder can get richer
If every one of the 340 million people in America paid a new $35 copay to visit the doctor, that still wouldn’t be enough to cover how much Meta would get from just one tax break in Donald Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill."

Feels like ranked choice was absolutely decisive in this race—not because of the vote count, but because of how it changed the incentives from zero-sum to cooperapetitive. It allowed a fractured left field to align organically through co-endorsements instead of falling into a circular firing squad.

-SCOTUS affirmed the administration’s right to kidnap people and ship them into slavery. Didn’t even pretend to offer a legal justification.
-By a bipartisan vote, the House effectively gave the president a pass after he illegally usurped congressional war powers.
