Trump is likely to pardon her to save himself.

Really unpleasant piece in yesterday's Times railing about older women "showing flesh" in summertime: written by an older woman, enthusiastically boosted by more older women, sickened by the sight of bare arms in the elderly.
Huh. The tank top it is, then.

It's amazing to think how much better things would be for the majority of people if only a minority of people would let these things happen.
Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached.

They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others.

Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further.

Americans don't understand that the rest of the world just laughs when they claim to be the country of 'freedom'. They get about 4 days off work a year, no maternity or sick leave, no free healthcare, democracy is owned by billionaires, you arent even free to cross a street.

I appreciate it's cliche and pointless to note this, but I don't think that six months into her term a hypothetical President Kamala Harris would be suing MSNBC, Bill Gates and The Guardian for reporting on her close personal friendship with a paedophile.

How do you ensure a nation fails to cope with drought? Privatise its water system.

Almost everyone wants our water renationalised. Almost everyone, that is, except the government.

High water bills, filthy rivers – and now drought. This is England's great artificial water crisis of 2025 | George Monbiot
In its refusal to nationalise water, it’s clear the government operates in the interests of private capital and not of the country, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

I hope that the protester has since received a grovelling apology by Kent Police. With the officers involved counselled regarding their conduct, and suitably retrained before returning to the streets.

If this hasn’t happened, then everyone should be worried about their freedoms and Human Rights

The police (wrongly) inform a peaceful protestor that holding a Palestinian flag and signs deploring genocide is an offence under the Terrorism Act. This is the deranged policing environment the government has created.
Police in Canterbury today informed a protestor that the phrase "Israel is committing genocide in Gaza" could be considered a declaration of support for Palestine Action and therefore a terrorism offence.
