I think many of the scholars on authoritarianism believing the US would be a competitive autocracy like Hungary are wrong. Had DeSantis been elected, that would've been the case. This moment has much more of the makings of a downward spiral into totalitarianism.

NAZISM is nothing new in America, this is MSG in NY in 1939. Hitler admired the success of American robber barons in suppressing organized labor, he was inspired by US & British propaganda during WWI, and he used the Jim Crow Laws of the South as a template in Nazi Germany.

Got my first "Violating an Executive Order" and "I'll make sure you lose federal funding" parent threat today for teaching "DEI" books in our upcoming "Liberty and Justice" themed unit. Even in "Blue" Massachusetts we're dealing with this.

They literally removed the T from LGBTQ and erased any mention of trans people who were present at the Stonewall Riots. They're trying to erase us from history.

When Darwin said "Fittest" he meant Best-Adapted, not strongest. Species that cooperate (like wolves hunting in packs or primates with social bonds) often thrive better than those that compete excessively.
