Fuck a duck, this is wrong. thank goodness for the small motels in my area that house so many people who would otherwise be on the streets.

A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles.
When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies.

Christian people who stoke hatred, who gleefully rip families apart, who stomp on the poor, need to repent. Because that’s going to invoke the wrath of God rather than gay people or feminists or whoever the current conservative boogeyman is.

Currently have a plastic bag on my head, but not in a “end it all” sort of way. I’m dyeing my hair and I don’t want to make a mess while I wait for it to activate. I’m also hoping my hair doesn’t fall out or turn a weird color.

I hate when people suggest to use a thousand other dialogue tags besides “said”. Those synonyms have their place, but “said” is unobtrusive. If your characters have unique enough voices, you don’t even have to use dialogue tags.

I’m thinking of having my photographer boyfriend take some new headshots of me, but every picture I take lately, I can’t get the existential dread out of my eyes. Maybe that will help sell my horror short story collection.

I hate being perceived visually. Yes, I am self-conscious about my looks. I don’t always have the time/energy to put on an outfit that makes me feel confident. But give me a costume or a mask, some way to be someone other than myself, and I’m good.

When I volunteered at the Austin Nature & Science Center 300 years ago, this was phrased to me as "their heads are full of optic nerves & murder. There's no room for anything else."

It’s a good thing no two snowflakes are supposed to be the same, because some of my crochet snowflakes have 6 sides like they’re supposed to, but some have 5 and some have 7. I keep thinking I’m following the pattern correctly, but I’m obviously messing up somewhere.

Watched a YouTube video and found out I don’t actually know how to crochet. I was doing What I thought was a single crochet stitch but was actually a fiber-based abomination that turned perfectly good yarn into something approximating a scarf. Double crochet will be the death of me.
