So....I purchased said dumb phone. It's not as dumb as you'd think! Bonus: I'm much more creative when I can't scroll mindlessly throughout the day.
Seriously considering a dumb phone. Hunching over a phone and computer all day has given me neck and back issues that are solved simply by sitting up straight and avoiding screens. I'd rather not have neck/back pain.

I was denied the career advancement I wanted to pursue. The senior manager was all for it and was willing to pay for it, but my boss said no. Why? "You don't need that because you're probably going to have babies soon."
This has been empirically demonstrated many times! You can’t expect men to have a place of domination and superiority over women in the home and treat women as equals outside of it.
Also, men who have traditional, stay-at-home wives treat women in their workplaces extremely unfairly, meaning that the choice to stay home *actively hurts* the choices of women (mothers or no) who want to work... while women who work do not hurt stay at home moms at all!

When did you know you were an adult fr*?

For me, it was when I started loving sourdough bread.

This weather is making me feel glum and underappreciated. I have to avoid the news to keep my sanity. Fighting hard lately not to fall into bad coping mechanisms.

They are just disappearing people off the street. Having a hard time thinking about literally anything else.
Not sure if this has been shared here yet, but this is video of Rumeysa Ozturk's arrest posted by WCVB. It's terrifying.

Today, four U.S. soldiers went missing in Lithuania during a training exercise and were found dead. When asked about it during an Oval Office presser, Trump claimed he knew nothing about it.

Because he doesn't care about our military. He has never cared about our military. They are mere collateral.

I can’t bring myself to watch the Kristi Noem video because the still is already so bad. How can anyone look at those people stacked like cordwood and think “we’re the good guys here?”

Do people understand that these morons could have gotten service members killed by sharing all this info in a text group?

They willingly and needlessly put the lives of our women and men in uniform in danger.

It's xenophobia. They're scared of becoming a minority. Add the fear of change and there ya go. I see and hear it on a daily basis. They use innocuous reasons but it boils down to racism and xenophobia. Also deal with internalized misogyny that perpetuates this. I'd rather be "woke".

After taking the high road for decades and seeing others do it without consequence, I think I'm entitled to throw at least one tantrum when I'm irritated. Let me lose my s*it just this once!

Breathing room was nice while it lasted. Back to being tracked and surveilled every waking minute. I'm prepared this time. Once bitten, twice shy. At least I won't be recorded in my own home changing or in more, uh, intimate situations.

In the past four weeks, Costco, which has embraced DEI initiatives, GAINED 7 million shoppers…

Target, which got rid of DEI, LOST 5 million shoppers!

That’s the power we have as consumers.

Remember that.
